About The Molds We Carry

 We carry three basic types of molds.

The first type of mold, and the most popular, is a chocolate candy mold. These molds are for molding chocolate and low temperature molding mediums such as soap or soy wax. Most of these candy molds have a maximum temperature range of 110 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. These molds can also be used to make ice cubes or mold gelatin. Each of this type of mold is made of a clear or semi-clear plastic.  All of our chocolate candy mold sku's are prefixed with "MLD" or can be found in the Molds - Chocolate Only category.

Another type of candy mold we carry is for making hard candy or what is also known as hard "tack" candy. The hard candy molds are made of a white tempered plastic that will withstand temperatures of up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. This type of mold can be used for molding chocolate also but will not give as glossy a finished piece as the chocolate candy mold.  The hard candy molds sku's are prefixed with "HMLD" or can be found in the Molds - Hard Tack Candy department.

The third mold type we carry is a flexible silicone rubber mold. These rubber molds are made by three different manufacturers.  Please note that all of the silicone molds are not necessarily high temperature. Please check the details for the maximum temperature suggested by the manufacturer.

The yellow silicone rubber candy molds are the most popular of the silicone molds for molding cream cheese, fondant, butter or other soft mediums which require a much softer release method than the chocolate or hard candy mold.

The manufacturer of the yellow silicone rubber molds has been around for years and produces some of the most popular designs but are available only in limited themes. Yellow silicone rubber molds have sku's that are prefix with "RMLD". or can be found in the Molds - Flexible Silicone category.

There are currently no companies in the U.S., to our knowledge, that manufactures metal candy molds.

 
Soap Molds and Supplies

Most of our candy molds can also be used for Melt and Pour soaps. We do have some that work best for soap making only so we have put them in a soap molds category. Most of the clear plastic mold will withstand temperatures of up to 140 degrees and are great for Melt and Pour soap making. 

The candy molds with instructions manufactured by Wilton and Make N Mold are not suitable for soap making since the maximum suggested temperature is 110 degrees Fahrenheit.  Candy molds manufactured by Concepts In Candy also have a suggested maximum temperature of 110 and are not appropriate for soap making. Concepts In Candy candy molds have colored pictures.

Soaps make great holiday gifts and we all know it's never too late to start shopping for the upcoming holiday season. We also carry a large variety of soap fragrances, soap additives and varieties of melt and pour soap. Our candy molds with smaller cavities are great for making soap embeds for your soap making or great soy wax tarts.
